I recently downloaded a Railroad CAD program called S C A R M and was planing to utilize it to scetch up some N-Scale track plans for my 10'x10' Office/Bedroom. Has anyone else used it and is it useful at all?

Better than anything else I've tried....

At least for me. I find it to be very intuitive in most respects and it's the only track planning program I've ever been  able to master the flex track tool on. I thought I would pull what little hair I have left out using Atlas RTS and XTrack wasn't much better. I'm on too tight a budget to afford the pay version track planning software so I think SCARM is great.

For a free program it's quite good

For a free program it's quite good but it does have issues to be resolved.

It's still classed as "BETA" software but does the job for me.

You just have to work around some of the design issues.

I've used Scarm

as it is the only program I have been able to make work for me. Like any program you'll need to take a few practice runs to get a handle on the program.

Mike, put the pointer on the item you want to change, it will turn red. You can then delete the item and then reselect to adjust the plan.

Thats what I thought Roy,

Thats what I thought Roy, However it won't for me. I have a new Toshiba laptop with windoze 8. Possible SCARM isn't win8 friendly? If I save something I cant modify it. .....Mike
