Hi,

I received the email that the May issue is ready for down load but when I clicked the link it said "this file is already in open in Adobe flash player", (I hadn't even down loaded it yet) In my file folder where I keep my MRH issues it shows the May issue, but the file size is 0 and when I try to open or delete the PDF I get the same message as above. I can't open, move or delete the file.

The thing about flash player

is you have to make sure it's the latest version. That's why I couldn't move or delete the file. I was able to delete the zero size PDF after updating flash player.

Primary server is offline

Our primary server is offline and there were problems with the mirror too.

I currently cannot reach our primary server host - their support site is down as well, but the mirror now seems to be working fine.

Talk about the perfect storm ...

I've received totally trashed issues or had them never come

I've received totally trashed paper issues as well, and I've also had paper mags get "lost in the mail".

From our side, we've had trashed DVDs (as in broken cases and cracked DVDs) arrive, and we've also had cases of DVDs just never showing up. In a few cases, three tries using different carriers never made it so we finally refunded the guy's money.

Just saying - it's the real world. Stuff happens - for any medium digital or otherwise. Digital is a mass-delivery medium so naturally when it goes south, it affects almost everyone.

It if was really all that bad, it wouldn't be catching on like it is. People aren't stupid, you know ...

Joe..FWIW

I was able to view the issue online, the problem might just be the download. I'll take having to read the issue online over a shredded hardcopy mag any day!!!!!!

Connection issues with paper

Quote:

Don't seem to remember the last time I had connection issues with my paper mags.

One of the reasons I dropped RMC was the issues I had with not getting issues.  Frequently I'd see then on the stand in the hobby shop a week or so before I'd get mine.  Sometimes I'd get two in one month, other times I'd get none in two months.  On the plus side, it did make for a nice surprise when an issue bothered to turn up in the mail box..

Eh, stuff happens.  I think everyone who wants to read the magazine has been able to by now, between the mirror sites and the online edition.  I'm on the east coast and up fairly early, and I only had to wait a couple hours to get mine.  If that's the worst thing I have to deal with today, I'll be a happy camper!

Downloading May Issue

I live in Cornwall where it is at the moment 2230 BST. I have just successfully downloaded the May Issue with no problems.  About four hours ago I did have the same problem as everybody else so maybe everything is now sorted.

Yep, now sorted

Yep, now all sorted except for the missing images on Macs and iOS devices. Have tracked the issue down to Adobe Acrobat munging the files when we do a save. Working on a solution now.

Everything else around our servers being down, etc is now all resolved. All downloads should be fully functional now.
