Peter Thayer and his father William came by several weeks ago to visit the layout. William is the brother and Peter the nephew of Stuart Thayer, a good friend and one of the regular operators on the CWE. Peter did a video tour of the layout while he was here and he posted it on YouTube. For those who are interested, here's a link to the video

Wonderful layout!

Tom,

It was great seeing more of your wonderful layout!  I'm hoping that if I'm ever in your area someday that I can come and visit.  The Mrs. and I are hoping to visit Louisville this fall and hope to have the time to make a trip in your direction.

Thanks for posting this

Thank you, Tom, for posting this.  As I have come to expect from the snippets and the modeling article photos, this is an outstanding layout.  I especially enjoyed seeing the roughed-in areas, with the little touches that make it believable even while under construction.

I always come away with an idea or something learned, when I see your work.  Thanks, much.

Great work....

...on a wonderful layout. I loved looking at the photos, but wished to see some trains running. At the end I fould your blogspot address and spent a lot of time watching the trains run. Wonderful!

Now all I would ask for is the track plan for your layout. If it is here or on blogspot please point me and others in the right direction.

Amazing, Tom!!!!!!

Wow Tom!!!!   What an amazing layout you have there.  It's so much larger than mine for sure.  Man you nailed the scenery and all.  It reminds me of my trips through those areas many years ago.  I need to do a video!  :o)

Pretty Cool

I violated my usual no video policy and watched this one.  It gives a nice idea for the flow of the layout.

All- thanks for the nice comments. It was very kind of Peter to take the time to put the video together, And sorry about the dog barking at the beginning- that's one of our rescue mutts protecting his turf.

Rick- looking forward to the visit. Hope you can make it up here.

Jim- the track plan is on the blog. After seeing some of the incredible work that guys like Alan ( http://www.lkorailroad.com/), Bernie ( http://usmrr.blogspot.com/) and others have done on their blogs, I went back and added a "Posts" section to mine. You'll find the plan under "Track Plan."

Tom J.- yes, you need to do a video! And soon!
