I am experiencing some difficulties in posting replies. (1) When I hit "Enter" on my keyboard, the cursor stay in the same location (i;e: it does not switch to the next line) (2) When I click on "quotes" the usual "box" does not appear. Nothing happens . When I type away I cannot change lines (hit enter) or do a spell check. The easiest way for me is to write away in word and copy and paste here. Your help would be appreciated it.problem.jpg

Microsoft did an update on

Microsoft did an update on their Internet Explorer that causes this. Now you have to click on a 'compatibility' button netx to the URL for some websites to work correctly (MRH included).

GREAT!!!!

Exact same problem for me.  Found the plain text editor works better, just no tools available. But at least I can do line breaks. The formatting added there holds in the preview/submit, even though it can't be seen in the rich text editor.          So Komrad Gates has found another way to make me use IE even though I don't want to!  (compatibility message and button are not shared with my preferred browser.)  Now if I could find out what thy did to make my mouse work so strange for the past several months...? Have gotten very annoyed with it.

99% of the time it's an IE issue

99% of the issues we see are IE issues - and at this point less than 40% of our user base is on IE, according to our server logs.

Makes you wonder - if an app that 4 out of 10 users are using but those 40% have 99% of the issues, what does that say about IE?

Our experience from the support side is IE is the buggiest browser you can use. Use Firefox, Chrome, or Safari and you should be much happier.

I've heard some corporations are banning IE all together on their internal networks because of its bugginess.

Will Microsoft finally get it right? We can all hope so ...

And others ban everything but

The company I work for doesn't allow anything but IE on corporate machines.

IE at work

I work for a municipal fire dept., and all of our city computers must use IE.  All of the city IT dept techs that I know use Firefox or are on Linux on their personal computers.  Go figure!

IE

IE is used in the corporate environment because it can be controlled by Group Policy.

The corporate techs don't use it because it's crap.

Companies that don't use heavy handed group policies for general users will choose Firefox because they have to do less to support it and it's less of an open hole in the network compared to a not buttoned down install of IE.

Sharepoint

IE is the only browser that integrates fully with Sharepoint (another M$ product) which a lot of businesses and my university uses for collaborative websites. But I only use it for that, Firefox for everything else. For IE10 you can set the browse mode to run as IE9 which might solve some problems with some websites. Marc
