Hi.

I'm new to Track Warrent Control, even though I have seen it been used in some OpSession videos and also listened to the prototype radio via internet (I live i Sweden).

Is there any good site to learn more about TWC?
And would it work without using radio between the drivers and the dispatcher?

Lars, I wrote up a "Track

Lars,

I wrote up a "Track Warrant Refresher" for my crews on the BC&SJ. Perhaps you might find it useful (in addtion to the track warrant page on my website already referred to.

I've been told by a visiting engineer that it was fairly close to GCOR. YMMV.

I think TWC is best when using radio headsets. But you could always have the DS and crews shouting across the room at each other. Sometimes, when I'm short a few radios crew will hike over to the dispatchers office (not in the train room) on the BC&SJ. This works, but a crew without a radio is kind of hard for the DS to contact should the need arise.

Regards,

Charlie

NORAC Form D

Take a look at the NORAC (Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee) Form D. It's a track warrant control system used by railroads in the Northeastern US. It would be very simple to adapt to a model railroad as well. I found a blank page sample by going to Google and typing in NORAC Form D. From there you can find a copy that best suites your needs. Hope that helps.

I downloaded a sample copy hoping that I could forward that to you. I can't seem to figure out how. Any help out there guys! Can I forward downloaded information on this site?

TWC in the Dispatchers Office

An upcoming issue of the Operation Special Interest Group's fine Dispatchers Office magazine will have an article on track warrants and other forms for op session use.
