Vancouver Island E&N Railroad Help?

Looking for Information and pictures of this Road. ( E&N Railway )

I have been to a couple of sites but can't really find much General history to current date, founder etc

But older pics of the harbour, scenery (Iknow that changes little) Types of bridges etc buildings ?

I've read the brief history and what they hauled etc and it looks just what we  ( Son & I )  are after to model.

Thanks for any help.

I really like the "online reading" capability!

I'm a downloading fool,  and my HDD is near it's max capacity,  so being able to read  MRH online is a real boon, thanks!

Also, I make it a practice to click through at least  one of your advertisers every time I visit.  That's how the bills get paid, right?

Litchfield Station, First in class, second to none......

Hi all,

with this I'd like to put a spotlight on the nice people of Litchfield station. This is a first in class, second to none enterprise.

An exemple,

on 1/8/2010 I bought a Soundtraxx TSU-KT1000, online. Well today, 1/15/2010 at 9.30AM the order was in my mailbox. Normal I hear you say. Yeah well, knowing my mailbox is standing in Belgium (Europe), I'd say, this is a scary superfast delivery. Even faster then domestic online sellers who on times are taking all the same time just to pack an online bought item.

Article Ideas/Suggestions?

In my various yahoo groups & forums that I peruse I've noticed complaints about MR magazine getting away from the more detailed modeling topics like scratch building Locos & Rolling stock.

I thought why not suggest this to MRH since MR has a different goal for their publication.  I for one enjoy their magazine but nevertheless I am interested in how to get started in scratch building of Locos particularly in N-scale.

Feedback on Issue 5

I think issue 5 is the best MRH to date.

I model European prototypes. I have basically Spanish stock, but I do keep a corner for American prototypes so I can have a Shay (ok, sorry, I confess I'm in love of both Shays and Swiss Crocodiles at the same time, and wait to see both of these near the Spanish ones!)

Ceiling damage not so bad

The good news is that my water damage from the washer wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Thanks to the advice I received from my other MRH post I cut a hole into the drywall to help the area dry out.  I also put a small fan outside of the railroad room blowing into the rafter area where the water was located.  Although the water did lift the paint and some of the drywall mud, the drywall itself appears intact.  The repairs should be limited to spackel, paint, and a dummy return air vent (with black cardboard inserted) to cover the cut out section.  The dummy

I was surfing this site the other day and saw a thread introducing the people behind MRH.

I was looking for it again, but can't find it now.  I've been kind of curious.  Most of the folks on staff seem to be from the Oregon area where Joe lives, but Les Halmos is from the East coast of Canada.  Just wondering how Joe and Les got together.  This is not a criticism, I think the MRH staff is outstanding, and Les is one of the best anywhere.  I'm just curious how some folks got together to start this great mag.

Using PAYPAL

I just want to share an experience I had a while ago, not model related but with using payment methods that some of the advertisers use here in MRH. I have always used my credit card directly with any vendor I have  dealt with and never had a problem in years of doing so. Within one month of using the paypal option for a service that I had ordered, my card was compromised and items were ordered from two different vendors. It was a nuisance type purchase because however this was done, the culprit could not gain access to the product, just cause me pain.

Don't get hosed!

I don't know if you would call this a tip or trick - more like a word to the wise.  I was walking by the doors to the railroad when I heard this disturbing sound......drip....drip.drip.drip...with only a few seconds between the drips. Upon investigation I found out that I had a water problem with water dripping from the ceiling and a big puddle on the floor. An investigation as to the source found that it was coming from the laundry room above. The floor underneath the washer was wet, but I couldn't find any leak.
