Track clearance markers

There is, at the same page as the derailers, another easily modeled track detail item:

Just a piece of styrene with a short lenght of yellow wire insulation.

It's important you mention MRH when talking with our advertisers

Signature Press, one of our sponsoring advertisers, just told us NO ONE who has ordered from them has ever mentioned MRH, so they're dropping their sponsorship with us.

I'm willing to bet some of you found them through MRH and maybe even ordered something from them. If you didn't mention MRH as part of the transaction, then shame on you!

This just highlights that it is VERY IMPORTANT that you GO OUT OF YOUR WAY to mention MRH when transacting business with any advertiser.

Designing my next layout.

1. Can anyone tell me what is the track center-to-center distance on the Walther's Double-Track Truss Bridge, # 933-3012?

2. Does anyone have a track plan for a small port?

Do Naperville RPM meet for free ... find out how!

We're looking for an assistant with the Naperville RPM meet coming up in a few weeks. We'd like to find a local person who either was planning to go or who would want to go if it's free! Here's some details of the event:

Victoria Model Railroad Show

Spent a great day on Sunday Sep 26 at the Victoria, BC Model Railroad Show. I forgot to take my camera, so I hope others may have pictures to post. Lots of modular layouts with fantastic and inovative modelling in the major scales.

As I stood in line to pay my entrance fee I talked to various modellers who had never heard of MRH. I did do my best to spread the word. Fortunately, one displayer took the initiative to contact Joe and prominently display MRH material.

Ad-free MRH?

In the interest of asking and not just assuming, here's a question:

Would anyone be interested in an ad-free MRH that sports a cover price?

I ask because occassionally we get emails from readers complaining about all the ads in the magazine. To get a quality magazine on a regular basis, we must pay people to write, edit, and produce it  - the only other business model would be to put a cover price on the magazine and offer an ad-free version for a price.

MRH Feedback straight from the horse's mouth

The MRH staff continually looks at things we can do to improve the magazine ... and we often have debates about what matters most to you, our readers.

It makes me think of how we got the phrase :"straight from the horse's mouth". It seems a bunch of academics were arguing for days over how many teeth were in a horse's mouth (true story). Finally, someone went out, found a horse, counted them, and reported back.

Which came 1st - Walther's Merchants Row1, or SS Limted Burlington St? - the answer!

So I was digging around on the web looking for structures for my downtown area that I'm expanding when I ran across the "Burlington Street" resin kit by SS Limited and I thought that it looked familiar.  I have Walther's "Merchants Row" on my main street so I screen printed a couple of pictures for comparison.  The only difference that I can see in the two kits is a column added to the left corner building on the SS Limited kit.

Anybody know which came first?  It appears that somebody definately copied somebody.
