AzBaja's blog posts got marked as spam by an overzealous moderator, so we've brought them back.

Sorry for the Recent Posts noise, but marking posts as spam is not to be used to muzzle other subscribers whose posts you may disagree with. Marking content as spam is only for removing garbage posts made by non-modelers - or by MRH staff to remove truly offensive or inflammatory posts.

I've always thought it was a bit too "Automatic." Hide the post by Collapsing it, so that others may read it if they wish, but otherwise it stays out of the other's view, so the next viewer can unmark it, or so the next viewer can concur that it IS spam, or the admin can administratively review and remove the offending posts. otherwise it seems the admins have to do too much work policing the overzealous Spam Markers.

We get spam every few hours

We get real spam every few hours but most of you don't see it because the mark as spam link is so effective. The average lifespan of real spam on here is a few minutes, thanks to the mark as spam link that's accessible to anyone. By contrast, there's a few spam oops events per month where legitimate posts accidentally (or deliberately) get marked as spam. The deliberate marketing as spam events are limited to a few times per year, so it's very rare and not the huge problem some of you seem to think it is.
