I made a simple point to point micro layout (operating diorama) for a micro model railway contest on Facebook. The baseboard is made from foamcore that is 38 inches long and 6 inches deep at its widest point. The total layout size is 135 square inches, including staging. I'm using On30 equipment from Bachmann.

The baseboard is foamcore with foamcore and 0.5 inch foam for the fascia. Baseboard thickness is 1.5 inches. I added some plaster cloth strips to stiffen the foamcore and it is solid and rigid.

I handlaid the track with code 83 rail from Micro Engineering and some On30 ties I ordered off of eBay. A couple of Atlas code 83 rerailers were used on both ends to facilitate turning the loco and passenger coach by hand.

The passenger shelter was cobbled together from styrene and cardstock. Stripwood was used for the siding. A simple and fun scratchbuilding project.

The backdrop is foamcore with canvas paper laminated to it. I painted the backdrop with oil paints. The bluish gray color was used to create a cold, stormy looking sky which works well with black and white photography.

This was a simple and enjoyable project that is now serving as a Christmas decoration in my train room.

Love it!

All aspects are excellent. I REALLY like your mood-inducing snow scene on the back drop! It really adds to the overall impact.

Bravo!

Nice work!

It looks great! I'm a big fan of micros and the late Carl Arendt's efforts. I have a few G narrow gauge items I have micro plans for.

Great snow effect

That snow effect looks great in the photos!  The gentlemen waiting in the shelter look cold.
