It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.

A few folks posted photos for this week on last week's WPF.  You can view those posts here, then come back here afterward.

My Cantilever Signal Bridge Installed and Operational-HO Scale

I had some custom PRR Cantilever Signal bridges made for the railroad. They are controlled by the dispatcher during operating sessions... Ballast work will follow once the rest of the signals are wired up in this section...

A Short Run

I was fortunate to get some of E. J. Brannan’s Cache Creek Scale Models of small HO cars before I heard he retired. Love the way they look and fit on my small HO Eureka and South Pass RR, a mining and logging layout set in Nevada in the late 1890s. Decided today they needed to go on a short freight run. all best, Alex

Testing out a new camera......

well, actually a used camera from Ebay, but new to me.

 I'm usually 4 or 5 years behind on the technical curve 'cause I don't have the green for the latest bestest technology. No biggie, eventually I get to play with last years (or five years) cool stuff!.

 Pulled out a covered hopper that I was never quite happy with and threw some new weathering on it and it was time to bring out the latest new/old picture taker.

 It's a bit of a learning curve but I'm enjoying the challenge.

Test = 10/10!

Superb photo Rick.

Your work is an example and inspiration for all of us. It's perfection.

And the learning curve doesn't seem to steep for you.

Thanks for sharing!

A little Photo Editing Fun

Some great photos this week.  I love the close up detail photos, taken from a railfan's perspective.  With that in mind, I did a little photo editing to add some sky and clean up the foreground scenery to replicate a fine summer day in Newport Center, VT as a southbound train passes another red barn.

Cameras

When purchasing a camera. Buying used cameras is not a bad idea. Think about it. A box camera from 50 years ago can still work. The quality in a camera is the lens. And many people buy a new camera of a certain brand just because the old lens still work. Any major brand is like that. And further more, look at the quality now available with these simple to use cell phones and such? I just recently got a Kodak camera that is simple as can be. Takes decent pix without a lot of finagling. Far easier than the DSLR I have. Yes, the DSLR may take better, but how much better. DSLR cost $450, Kodak cost $50. So, there you have my opinion and experience..
