Interesting video: run around brake hose; I didn't knew that - would be interesting to model:

Bypass hose

Neat video, and I didn’t know about those hoses either.

Defective brakes

Technically the car has to have a waiver from the FRA to move with a runaround hose. With a runaround hose the car's brakes are inoperative, since Federal air brake rules require 100% of the brakes to be operative out of origin, the railroad has to get a waiver to move the car with the brakes inoperative.

Think before you post, try to be positive, and you do not always have to give your  opinion……

Unless it's a line of road failure, then you can move it to the next repair point.

FRA?

FRA?

For over two years now the FRA around here has not been a factor, its a good time to be a class 1.

Interesting.

I have rarely seen a train on the Port Road. When I did I caught the tail end by the time I reached a clear shot of the tracks. It is a scenic line along the river with almost no online industries.

I started a Nscale version of this line once upon a time (26 years ago).
