Brand new on the property

3_094233.jpg class BS-24m Center Cab. The PRR was known to have tried just about everything. The huge road switcher / transfer units included. They were the biggest purchaser having bought just about every one. Here is one on its maiden run handling some tank car drop offs and on its way back home with a lone N8 Cabin in tow.

Old bridge, new layout

While far from a finished product, this viaduct has returned to service carrying trains over the Elk River.

This structure was originally built by a Pennsy modeler from Wheeling, WV. Later, a mutual friend bought it and salvaged from the builders estate. Turned out, he couldn’t use it and sold it again. I later bought it from the third owner in 2015 and brought it home. Since then, it has been stored and moved once more. FINALLY, I stripped the deck a few weeks ago, mounted the viaduct in place and can now have trains pass over it once again!

It ended up with single track so the curves at each end can be as broad as possible (36” radii) for larger cars. 187AE12.jpeg

new N7 bay window caboose

Here is the new Tangent offering I just finished up for a customer.  Not cheap but these are as nice as anything ever offered.   Here's some before, during and after including my secret sauce for the fade. Plus a couple pics once he got it home to his layout. Enjoy, Steve

Pain in the ash...

Robert Nidiffer digs up some ash near the ET&WNC right of way, near the interchange with the main line to Johnson City.

1-01(1).jpeg

Residents of Stoney Creek often wonder what he does with the buckets of ash he walks off with, but with wartime rationing in effect, it's one of the few things that is easy to obtain...

Bridge shot

Wow, Deemiorgos, that shot is amazing. I really expanded on it at first, unsure if it was actually a model shot!

CHiPs pings a Chevy!

Yep, I know it's been done many times before. But, I just picked up a California Highway Patrol 1954 Pontiac and could not resist setting up the "hiding behind the billboard" trick:

And, for the other side of the billboard:

OR...CHIPS pulls over.....

CHIPS pulls over the first autonomous vehicle, and then can't figure out who to give the ticket.

(If you look closely, you'll see there is no driver in the 55 Chevy.)
