I recently purchased some new rolling stock from N-Scale Supply (from their used items) for the Turtle Creek Central (TTC) Railroad that also runs on my layout. The tank cars, I suspect, were undecorated Micro-Trains tank cars along with an Atlas covered hopper were all decaled for the TTC by the previous owner using Micro-Scale decals that have been available since the article that was published several years ago in Model Railroader Magazine. I also show and discuss some of the commuter trains (Bachmann & Kato) that were decaled a couple of years ago for the Turtle Creek Central.

I enjoy the smell of melting plastic in the morning.  The Fake Model Railroader, subpar at best.

Turtle Creek Central

Eric,

I absolutely agree. I have a few other freight cars (boxcars and a caboose) that I had decaled several years ago to include the commuter trains that were shown.

Turtle Creek Central

Dave,

Very nice looking freight car.  The decals are routinely available thru Micro-Scale.

the boxcar

Thanks John. I built that from an Adirondack Car and Foundry resin car kit produced by the late Ed Reutling and Bill Ramey. The magazine had just included those TCC decals and I thought it would be interesting to make a car depicting the TCC in modern times. Micro scale was smart to produce the decals for the magazine as they probably sold a lot more . I can'r recall if the TCC was a MR magazine layout series or why the decals were in the magazine........DaveB

Aw MAN...

I just threw out a set of those decals about a week ago, I assume found in a MR issue? I was never going to use them for anything and it didn't even occur to me anyone would want them like this.

I probably shouldn't have even brought this up but I face-palmed myself silly when I read this thread...

your boxcar

The article was in Model Railroader many years ago (2005 or earlier) when I was still living in the Dallas area.  I had purchased my first set of TCC decals from Discount Model Trains in Addison, TX, and as I recall, brought the newly decaled TCC boxcars and caboose to show one of my friends that worked at the store.

TCC Decals

Lee,

As I had mentioned in one of my previous responses, the decals are routinely available directly thru Micro-Scale. Many hobby shops ight not carry them but I had purchased 4 sets direct from Micro-Scale to do my RDCs and a Doodlebug set.
