It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.  There were a few late-comers in last week's post.  Check them out, then come back here afterward.

I misted my estuary's bed to get an ideal what it will look like when I apply a glossy and semi glossy look to it.

I took the shot in the late evening with the light coming in on it.'

Very Realistic!

That’s very realistic modeling of an estuary Deemiorgos, bravo!  How did you achieve the cracked mud effect?

Cheers,

Thank you Jeff,

I used a product call Distress crackle clear rock candy. It comes in gel form and I mixed latex paint in it.

I experimented with it at first, and it is surprisingly durable when dry. I tried to pry off the "flakes" with my nails and a screwdriver; won't come off.

It has to be applied thickly. I like how it bonded well with the grout underneath it.

Well-Traveled Bridge

On it’s third layout, this stone arch viaduct is in place and grade set this morning. Hopefully trains will be running over it again sooner than later. It is a scale 550’ long and 72’ high.

I should also mention that I am at least the fourth owner, the last two couldn’t fit it on their layouts.

Paint progress

I was able to get the base coat of paint on my scratch/bashed N scale Housatonic RS3M #9935 and my GP9M #7324. I still need to do touch up, gloss coat, decals and dull coat, then reinstall glass, headlights, etc. The day after I took these shots, I found a great shot of the #7324, which showed that the prototype did not have a steam generator, but the N scale shell I was able to source for this project did have the two domes.  " />

I have removed them without doing too much damage to other details and will need to repaint the short hood, once I finish smoothing out the modifications.

Trying again

Hey Deem I figured it out.  Pasted pictures from the MRH file manager aren't clickable to open larger but when I upload directly into the posting they are clickable.  Hopefully that makes sense!

Flying over Missisquoi River

The engineer on CP train 904 enjoys a nice view as train glides across the Missisquoi River in North Troy, VT.  A leased Chessie GP35 is tucked in the consist, but the engineer is happy to have the hard working MLW on the point.

Fishing

The fisherman is too busy concentrating on his line to notice Rio Grande 5395 leading a train past. More of a fishing fan than a railfan I guess.
