Might as well make a 3D version of the New A/C wall mount A/C unit...  The pre prints on the Printer look great in HO as well as N

After 18 year the A/C wall unit died in the train room. After I fitted the new unit, I figured it might be fun to print out some for my buildings on the layout, Every one loves Cool air in Arizona including the little people. I did take a few personal liberties. My unit is 12,000 BTU this unit is closer to 15,000 to 20,000 BTU. Just to make it a little larger, I put the power disconnect on the front vs on the side of the house etc. just to add a little interest. I also included the few degrees of slope for condensation drainage. So it might look like it is sagging at the back, but this is the way you install the real units so it drains.

why

Why did you mount it so low on the wall? Personally I went with a Mitusbishi Ductless model.

Was put in over 18 years ago

Was put in over 18 years ago plus, Side yard has ben lifted close to 12" with the add in of concrete pad on the side on the house.  The Train Room aka was on the house when I purchased it in 1999.  It was an Art Studio built into 1/3 of the patio structure by the lady the owned the house before me.  Over the last 22 years things have changed as Stuff has been done to the house.  Now with the new concrete pad added to the side.  the ground level has ben raise over 12" vs they way it was.  Also with the addition the roof over the train room was stripped off and raised to to blend into the main house as well improve rain removal.  So what was only a few inches aka probably no more than a foot above the unit is now several feet with the new roof.  Also I used the old sliding glass door frame as the guide to mount the unit around 18 years ago.  It could not go any higher with out cutting the 2x8 or10 stingers that ran above the sliding glass.  Again, the train room started out as a patio over 21 years ago.  So what looks low now was perfectly fine when it was installed over 18 years ago.  I still leave the plastic chain under it from when it was just around head level.  After you crack your head on it ever now and then doing yard work etc.  now it looks lower with the new pad etc.

from the but of the unit to the floor inside the train room is 63 to 64 inches, as of Today on the outside of the house bottom of unit to the ground it 60 inches after the new pad was installed,  yes the train room floor is lower/sunken.   Before the pad bottom of unit to the ground on the out side was 70 to 72 inches.  Just the perfect height to crack your head on.

There's always the local recycler on your layout

If you have a junk dealer on your layout, you can always paint up the partial prints and any extra extras as units on their way to be recycled.  A few piled in the back of a pickup in the lot, several piled on a pallet, or an open-topped crate with a bunch tossed in.

One of the great things about having a 3D printer is you can create all sorts of interesting junk from the failed prints as well.
