Eagerly looking for photos......

I was on a long scheduled beach vacation with the grandkids last week...no way to bi-locate.

Enjoyed the beach, but missed St. Louis.

@cnwchet

We had a great time as well.  I can help with a few here. The CR, CNW and GD models are mine.  The coil car is my buddy Butch Eyler.  It looks even better in person.

I’ll try to get some of my pics added here as well. I didn’t take as many as usual, not because there wasn’t enough but because I was too busy talking. Ha

Virginian H-16-44

Apparently someone brought a finished Virginian H-16-44 to the RPM but I don't know whose model it was (that and I wasn't there in person so have only seen through photos). The main reason it catches my interest is because it's a Phase II H-16-44 which is different from both the Phase I and Phase models Atlas and Bachmann offer, respectively. I've wanted to build one of these for awhile, so getting tips/information from the builder would be extremely helpful in trying to do mine as well.

Thread died fast

Guess of the 750 attendees not many are MRH forum members?    Here is some of the shots I took over the weekend,

Thanks Steve

I've never been able to attend an RPM meet but your photos really help to answer a lot of questions about what the meet is like. Very cool.

I saw your G&D car (great roof!) but couldn't find the others you mentioned. Are any of yours or a photo of you included in your photos?

Hope to meet you and a lot of the other great modelers on this forum one of these days.

Thanks

Dee glad you enjoy them. Maybe someday you will make it.

Rick, the others I mentioned were in Chets original pics here.  The CR SDP45, that is a dummy unit that was used in the Athearn photo shoot for the add a couple years ago.   The CNW dash 9 he posted was mine also.    As for me, I'm hard to miss being a tall. slender good looking guy with a voice like Ronnie James Dio.  HA   Ok, I'm the short fat guy beside Tony Sissons in the Motley Crue shirt above. (my dad is the guy in the Cass Scenic shirt by Ken Patterson above)    I'm in the current "Whats Neat This Week" and my other interview will be in the October Whats Neat.   I do a couple episodes a year with Ken.  I didnt take a picture of my display intentionally but here is an idea at least.  My large scale on one side and HO on the other at the near end of the table pictured here.        Glad you liked the GD car.  I have another I did but forgot to put it on the table at the show. Oops. Oh well.

Thanks,Steve

Dee, I had a chance to talk

Dee, I had a chance to talk with the Rapido rep. and he said that the CP ten wheeler, likely won't arrive until after the first of next year and the CN engine is still on the back burner.

Sorry for the bum news but that's what he said and I was wrong saying the CN engine might still be coming after seeing it listed on theTrain World site.

Z scale

Did anyone take shots of the Z scale guy's display?  You think HO super detailers are nuts, try building Z!  And he said he'd been doing Z since 1972, which happens to be when it was introduced.  In other words, he's talented, patient, a slow learner, and crazy.  Nice guy though!  He knows he's crazy.

Then in a different part of the crazy spectrum is Tony Sissons.  Just trust me.

I only had my cell phone so I didn't take too many pics.  But there was a lot of great models on hand and the thing I liked is almost all of them were being shown for the first time.

The clinics were good too.  I only slept through two of them....

RI Mechanical Department visits the St. Louis RPM

The RI's Mechanical Department made a survey of the offerings at the St. Louis RPM. Apologies if this is too 'home road-y'. The displays were impressive to say the least.

Alvin Ho's N Scale Budd Bilevel

Al Ho's Budd car (again). Incredible in N scale.

Bob Rivard's display. Bob has forgotten more about prototype modeling than I will ever learn. I could have spent hours photographing this.

Kevin Nieheisel's RI power...

Mike Budde's very excellent Vert A Pak car with the doors lowered. Matt Gentry looks pensive.

A great show. Next time, I will bring a background obfuscation device that should better focus the pictures on the subjects and have a less distracting background.

Oooo!!

LOVE the RI pics!

REALLY like Bob Rivard's display! That's some gritty railroadin' right there... Rock Island style!

Thanks to all for sharing pics of the RPM meet.

More St. Louis RPM galleries

Here are links to a few St. Louis RPM photo galleries. Some coverage might be repeated

I didn't take as many photos this year as I was also staffing a vendor table.

Enjoy!
