The two major pieces of the BQR are now sitting in the rec room in our new location. I have been contemplating how I want to rebuild and change it. In the old location it was tucked into a tight 7'x10' corner. So of necessity it had an 'L' shape. The new space is 20' long but limited in width. So the old landscaped helix goes at one end and the yard at the other. And something new in between. The landscaping survived quite well -- I had packed up all the trees, structures and figures -- they are still at the off-site.

Most of the wiring was removed before the move so the grid could be cut into two manageable pieces.

The upper part with the turntable, service facilities and engine house I am thinking will remain. The too short yard ladder will get extended and the curved exit track removed. Not having that 90 degree bend opens possibilities.

When the cleanup  is done, the two parts will go up on taller legs -- maybe a foot higher than the last setup.

The BQR changing shape for a new room...

This happens to be a form of rebuild I had to do some 4 years ago, but in the opposite way; mine went from a straight rectangle to a shorter L shape... meaning I will be watching to see how this develops.

That yard chunk is easily the most dense pointwork - 4 x double scissors + 1 x 3-way points (switches to Americans?) - yet it doesn't look unbelievable. The weeds & soil are well judged..
