Ordered one

It was a bit pricey but I really wanted to have a early 80's gon for the scrap yard dealer on the layout.

Great idea...

having the brass panels for dents and dings.  Should be some great looking models and great projects we see in the near future as a result.

I'm a fan of Blaines models.

I'm a fan of Blaines models. He does a fantastic job.     The 1980 date "just" fits within my time frame so I've ordered a couple of the GONX version.

I can't wait to see what Blaine has coming next.  I believe he is doing 4600 covered hoppers which we might see out this year and should be much better than the Athearn Genesis 4600 with it's ill fitting top to body seam.

Major Project

No doubt the kit has the potential of looking fantastic if constructed correctly.  But looks like a lot of time and effort for a modern gondola unless you are going for a contest entry.

Personally for the price, would opt for a Tangent or Exact Rail model.

Tangent and ExactRail do not offer gondolas of the type Arrowhead is offering.

Maybe on confused on this post here, but the car is RTR, correct?  If so, though the price is high, there is a lot of value in the detail that you're getting.

Easily re-kitted

There's a video on YouTube showing how one guy took the sides off his ExactRail gon and dented the brass sides.  Looks like he was able to put it back together with no ill effects.

I don't see any kits on the website for sale, only RTR versions including as-delivered Railgon GONX (1980), CSX re-badged Railgons and plain CSX.
