Gordy Robinson, Martyn Jenkins, and Gert "Speed" Muller, ably assisted by a great many others, have made the NMRA-X series of virtual clinics, layout tours, and panel discussions an ongoing success. So this thread will be for announcing upcoming NMRA-X events.

Content Content Everywhere

After the first two months of our necessary confinement/shelter in place, online media content has started to appear in high volume.

Between the national/international NMRA-X steady stream of YouTube clinics, weekly local NMRA division Zoom meetings, the Hindsight 2020/Speedwitch freight car rivet shape and count Zoom presentations, preserved railroad, historical society and MRH stuff, it feels like it is hard to find modeling time. I can turn my 24" PC screen around from my workbench and relax in an old armchair with a beverage to drink in all of this content.  Plus 2 online magazines and at least 3-4 print modeling or prototype publications.  And then there are 3 major online forums and all of the interesting highly specialized forums on the groups.io (a much better successor to the old Yahoo groups platform.) Oh and then there are the Facebook groups.

Even as  a retired and a somewhat solitary old curmudgeon with no live in spouse or kids (ex in another town and 1 successfully launched offspring) I find it hard to keep up and I am selective about what I spend time watching. So many ideas it sometimes seems like a whirlwind. And I do have a few other non model or prototype railroad/railway interests.  And I do my own housekeeping if not too well.

So here I am at 10:30 at night responding to yet another "important" topic. When will it ever end or do I want it to ever end.

SERx by NMRAx

The SouthEastern Region is running it's annual convention virtually this year, and NMRAx is doing the hosting. Since Gordy apparently has decided that something like 108 hours of content during the GatewayX week wasn't stressful enough, the SERx presentation will have three clinic rooms/streams running simultaneously.

So, like a normal convention, you're going to have to decide what you want to watch. Live, at least.

I'm hoping Gordy was joking when he said he wasn't sure if all the clinics were going to get recorded....

Here is July 25th's schedule:

We’re at it again. This month is four hours of clinics. Tune in and give the host something to talk about!
