After many fits and starts I finally finished editing the video I shot of the previous iteration of the W&N Branch when I lived on 150th St.  I filmed it right before the layout was disassembled to move to our new home.  The video was shot with a small sports camera attached to a flat car with a rubber band.  So the film is a little grainy due to the low resolution of the camera and a little shaky due to the suspension of the flatcar.

That being said, I'm glad I documented it and thought some of you might like to see it.

The video was edited with Flash-Integro VSDC Free Video Editor.  I tried several others and they were either trial use that expired after a couple months or left a watermark on the video.  VSDC was one of the simplest and really did a nice job.  The narration was added with Apowersoft Free Audio Recorder, also very easy to use.

Enjoy!

Wow

Dave, I have followed your writing and videos for a while. I am attempting to model the same era, or a little before. You are a very talented modeler and have laid some awesome track as evidenced by the smoothness of that train ride. I hardly felt the bumps! The video made me think of rides I have taken on 1:1 railroads! I'm sorry to see such a beautiful layout go but I am sure the next will be better, as well as bigger. Thank you for sharing and best wishes on your new endeavor. Please share as you go.

Nice video of a nice railroad.

I only noticed camera shake at one place, other wise it was very smooth.  Pictures did not look grainy to me at all, but I just watched it in the little window here, and not enlarged to full screen.  Nice work!

Great looking layout

Beautiful track work and the arrangement looks very prototypical. Hope to see more videos like this of your current layout.

I Enjoyed It

Not only the modeling, but the competent filming and editing.

I watched during a bout of insomnia; Far from a cure, watching the video got me too excited to sleep for another hour or so. It was worth it.

Thank you,

DrJolS

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it.  The editing software is easy enough that I think I will try some more videos.
