I just caught a Nationwide Insurance commercial where Peyton Manning takes Brad Paisley to a miniature town called Peytonville.  It appears to be a MASSIVE model railroad layout.  However, I saw no trains or an indication of rail service.  Still, pretty impressive modeling (if it’s all real and not CGI).
Anybody have more information about this or know who worked on the project?

Nationwide commented on Facebook that the model was (or is) housed in a hangar and that the commercial is part of a series centered around the Peytonville model.  But that’s all I can find. Here’s a link to the two that are on YouTube so far:

A few close ups

Recognize any of the structures...or, are they all originals created for this project?

I saw it too

and googled the heck out of it and got no info about the model. Also, I don't recall any mention or suggestion of "model railroad".

Boo

I forgot that I’d posted this!  Certainly disappointing that ALL of it is CGI.
Looks like Walthers even bought it:

Still Impressive

Even if all CGI, that's a LOT of work, and a level of detail to make a V-scaler envious.

I think it is CGI when they show all of the city. However, in the closeups, it is all real models. If you look closely you'll see that in the closeups there Is a blurred background with the rest of the city.

You can render CGI with a shallow depth of field

Not necessarily. With a 3D model that's CGI, you can tell the computer to render a shallow depth of field, no problem. Looks like that's what they did to fool you into thinking it's real when it's not.

Sadly all CGI

In reality, we built the entire town using CGI, meaning all the people, houses, cars, skyscrapers, drones, football stadiums, ferris wheels, farm houses, water towers, yoga mats, etc. were created after the shoot.

Computers. Wow.

No trolley?

Am I the only one that sees the Peytonville commercials for Nationwide Insurance and think you guys couldn’t have at least put a trolley on there? Call me crazy, but I look at it and say where the hell are the trains. If they have no plans for putting trains on Peytonville at least bring some crazy war gamers all jacked up on Red Bull and let them lay waste to it. Glad I have State Farm.
