Just did a little write-up on my visit to Ken Karlewicz' layout over the weekend. Words fail to describe it. English words, anyway. Let's just say his work inspired me to actually speak a foreign language (briefly) - and gave my scenery motivation a boost (significantly). Read all about it over at the Valley Local . . .

Trés Bien!

Merci monsieur!

I have been struggling with a section of my layout that looked fine on paper but, as typical, the more I learned about the prototype, the more dissatisfied I’ve been with capturing the scene in a model format. Being 100% prototypical is always a challenge in our modeling long linear infrastructure in a confined space. Until I build a barn, I realize that only I will know and the essence of the scene will convey a feeling that Karl, any you, are able to portray. Merci beaucoup.

Marty's comment about

Marty's comment about modeling to evoke an emotional response (see comment in the blog) might be the best piece of modeling advice I've read in a long time.
