I did a little timelapse of wiring my staging yard. It was a fun way to get motivated and finish this section. Enjoy!

As usual, any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

2 minutes

I need one of those time machines. I think I'd be willing to put in 5 minutes if the machine is a little cheaper.

Was that the actual Scott Joplin "recording" of maple Leaf Rag? Sure sounded like it. Love it.

Neat Video

Looks like you had a very enjoyable time making that video. Watching it was fun for me for sure.  With that camera set up, will we be seeing live streams of you in action?  Now, that would be awesome. That layout is going together at a pretty good clip of work! Impressive!  Looking forward to seeing that parked rolling stock moving about the track.

You work fast!

I'm sending HO scale structures your way. I expect them back in a few days!

Hahahahaha Ha!!!!

Great video!!! My favorite music and my favored method of rail connections on top!  I’m a hard (or dumb) asp and soldered all the connections on the bottom too.  Maybe just plain cheap too....

Thanks, I enjoyed!!!

Hawaiian Coffee?

Ken - It has been so hot lately that my choice of beverage has changed (a little). Can’t beat our coffee though and does increase the motor-vation.

Rick - Yup. Maple Leaf Rag. Always looking for fun open source music. It seemed fitting for the crazy fast vid. My time machine is just an iPhone with a cheap tripod mount.

Steve - No live stream. I swear way too much! I also cut out a bit here and there to keep it under two minutes. I generally can’t get thru video longer than that unless it is really good! Plus, you may notice the cap. I’m actually quite shy and self conscious of my aging appearance and thinning hair. Really.

Nick - I wish I’d pre-Wired the rail or, at very least bought wire that wasn’t twisted. Oh well.

Michael - Send those kits my way! I’ll post progress

Fast wiring!

If I could wire that fast I'd almost enjoy it... Almost.

Neat Video

Neil,

Neat video!  Watching you bend over towards the back, under the sloped ceiling, reminded me of similar challenges wiring back under my sloped ceiling.  Bumped my noggin more than once!

Your certainly are making great progress!  Keep it up!

Got some Kona coffee at home

Got some Kona coffee at home but it wasn't very good.  Maybe not Hawaii's best.

Very Cool!

Neil,

It's fun to watch someone ELSE do all that wiring!  The layout is really coming together.  It's fun to see after all the planning.  Do you have a final track plan somewhere?

Enjoy wiring?

Funny how we all see this as a necessary evil. After playing with battery powered, direct wireless control of engines  for so long I wanted to try and go back to the old school way of doing things. Besides the slopes ceiling and back pain, the cost of wire, connectors, and other components that most of us take for granted, I am spending a fortune.

Al, I have been planning a trip back home in late August so hope to meet you. I had several pounds of coffee roasted last year (40# I think) and ended up donating a lot to a fundraiser. Sorry guys! I’ll have to do it again after these ripen. Talk about fresh!

Track plan

Michael: I did post some sketches over on the “Chronicle” and am looking forward to making progress on the station and wye this weekend. Another video maybe? Probably not all time lapse this time. It’s almost too hard to watch, even for me.

Wow

Once you lock down a plan, you get right with the program.

Well, Neil, I TOTALLY missed your entire thread.  I have to go back and read it; looks very exciting.  You posted the beginning of it right when I went to Europe and was offline for about 3 weeks.  Seems big things were happening on the other side of the globe.

@Neil

Hi, Neil,

Yes!  I should be here all of August - no trips or cruises planned; looking forward to your visit.  Of course, I'll have to get off my duff and clean up the RR room....  < grin>
