I recently finished a complete reworking of my TT scale Berlin diorama.

The diorama resembles the area around the S-Bahn station Warschauer Strasse, which is a wellknown railfan spot. With a closed and boarded up signal tower of the typical Berlin architecture, elevated district heating pipes from the old East German times, and characteristical graffiti, the layout provides the typical Berlin railway athmosphere of the early 21th century on a footprint of just 30 x 15 cm (11.9 x 6.0 inches).

The original version was made in 2011. Here is a picture from that year.

For the reworking, I took a new background photo, replaced graffiti stickers by much nicer looking decals, and applied more weathering to the interlocking tower to better meet the appearance of an abandoned building.

Here is a picture of the tower showing it before and after the reworking.

So, after the reworking, the tower could return to its old place on the diorama.

Here is closer look at the graffiti covered walls and district heating pipes on the left part of the diorama.

This diorama also provides a nice environment for photo scenes with modern rolling stock. Here, it shows a Russian-made diesel locomotive of German class 241 in DB Cargo livery.

Very Nice!

Although the original was nice, the new and improved is outstanding!

Bravo!

Wonderful. Please post more photographs. Is there a valance or fascia? Does your diorama have any dedicated lighting? I would find the answers to those questions interesting.

Thanks ...

... for the nice comments! Right now, there are just a few photos. Some more photos, you find in my Flickr album at https://flic.kr/s/aHsmigu63e

There is no valance or fascia. It's just a simple baseboard with two tracks and a backdrop. To the photo I used for the backdrop, I applied a slight cartoon effect to make it better blend with the model scene. The photos, I took outside on my balcony. That's why, the lighting looks so natural. since the diorama is on permanent display on the bookshelf in my study, it has a plexiglass dust cover.

I will definitely take more photos of that diorama and post them from time to time in the Weekly Photo Fun section.
