Lancaster Central RR

I made the decision to rebuild my layout, now that it’s 5 years old, it’s time to remove the basic things and focus on more details. I will be removing the ‘filler’ cars from the roster, upgrading and weathering the cars that stay. For some reason I procrastinated for several months and then I decided decided it’s now or never.

The mainline was straightened on one end and the connection removed that made a loop between the scenes of the visible section. The passing siding was extended. Most of the mainline stayed.

The branch has been removed creating simpler scenes and more space to convincingly model the city. Also the space will have room for more spurs from a new turnout on the mainline. The former industrial tracks are going to be a yard for now, since I have rebuilt them several times and don’t feel like changing them.  I will add a new backdrop to both scenes hopefully soon to get a better feel for the size of the scenes. I will be removing what’s left of the trolley tracks.

Trains are rolling on the mainline again after about two weeks of downtime.
