I think I may have overdone this. What do you all think? I attempted a salt chip technique on a concrete building. Also did some chalk weathering to it.

looks very old

If you're modeling the modern era and the building is supposed to be about 100 years old and the surface is spalling (concrete flaking off, not just paint failure), I think you've nailed it. Scott Chatfield

Wow

We are our own worst critic.

I think you did an excellent job.  “At first glance I thought it was a real life image”

Great

It looks great.  Reminds me of the older portion of the Essroc cement plant in Nazareth PA.  A lot of the older structures in the Cement Belt look similar.  In a way that echoes what Scott said earlier as most of those buildings are about 100 years old at this point.  Yours isn't overdone at all IMO.

I live not to far from

I live not to far from Nazareth, and have had the fortunate opportunity to work the Cement Secondary for NS over the past few years. I am trying to base my model loosely off of the Buzzi Unicem plant, which used to be the Hercules Cement plant.

Cement Belt

What a coincidence, Nsmapaul.  I used to get down there quite a bit.  Chased H75 a few times, too, and even got some pics of switching up in Stockertown a few times.  Haven't been back for a couple years; Trains and Lanes is probably feeling the pinch!  May head back in June.

So your model made a guy in Massachusetts think of the exact area you're modeling.  I'd say you nailed it!
