Michael Tondee

I explained elsewhere in this blog where the "noah_count" screen moniker came from and how it just became automatic for me when I signed up for things so I won't go into it again. I never minded when folks made the honest mistake of calling me "Noah" because I know it could be confusing.

At any rate, since I had my real name in digital print for a short time and hope to someday submit articles to MRH again and also to regularly start updating my blog again, I've changed my screen name over to the name my Mother and Father gave me. My wife often calls me "Miguel" unless she's mad at me but that's another story. From now on " It's me, it's me, it's Michael T."

Thanks

Thanks Michael for leveling with us and deciding to turn over a new leaf. I prefer to treat everyone as equals instead of get all wrapped up in too much “people just ignore me” drama. It becomes noise that inhibits a good conversation on a topic. Reality is there are folks who seem eager to pick a fight in all walks of life. They seem to thrive on drama. I’ve found if I don’t let them get to me but stay on topic they either leave or they finally settle down and start having a rational useful conversation eventually. A pastor friend of mine told me something once that has really stuck with me: we’re all born with a tender skin and a hard, tough heart. What providence wants us to learn in this life is how to have a tough skin and a tender heart. The Bible calls it “speak the truth in love”. So welcome back, Michael!

We all get frustrated and

We all get frustrated and lose our temper on occasion. It's natural to "vent" and unhealthy to keep emotions pent up inside. That being said, I try my best not to let other people make me mad anymore. I'm really enjoying my life these days and it just isn't worth it. My biggest life revelation came when I realized how much my own anger was harming me and eating me up from the inside out.

Not to long ago I had an intense bout of insomnia where I hardly slept for three days. I think God chose to show me a few things during that time. It was tough to go through but now I'm glad he did. I can still be way to selfish sometimes but I mostly feel a great desire to help others. It occurs to me that I have a great deal of model railroading knowledge and life knowledge to share. I am now photo documenting every project I do on the railroad, no matter how simple or  "old hat" I might consider it. As time permits, I'm going to write it up and share it on this blog or maybe in articles if I think they are good enough. I may even start a YouTube channel. "Everything old is new again" and chances are, somebody out there hasn't seen it or certainly hasn't seen my take on it. I have found that sharing my work keeps me motivated and keeps the creative juices flowing so I get something out of it too. It's a win/win situation.

Excellent Thoughts

Your pastor friend is right Joe. I have discovered personally that it is not so easy to make the swap.

And your right too Michael about what being mad can do to you. Been there also and still slip into it once in awhile. I don't get out much, discovered it was turning me into a major introvert. Wife and mother-in-law took off for Hawaii for 2 weeks leave me and our dog in the cold weather. What it has done is get me out of the house every day and interacting with people. It's amazing how much better I feel because of it. And I am spending more of my home time working on the RR.
