This is the first run of my new N-Scale Bachmann Consolidation 2-8-0 Steam Engine.  It has a factory installed SoundTraxx Econami sound decoder. I had pre-ordered the engine several months ago and just received it a couple of days ago. The engine is planned to be used as the motive power for local way freights.  It needs to be re-decaled for the ATSF.  As you can see from the video, it runs and sounds pretty good. I am pleased with this addition to my collection of steam engines.

Really cool

Thanks for sharing. It's not common for the N scale steam engines to be featured like this in a video. I have a good idea what they do, now. I don't have DVD at this time and never had a sound equipped engine. Good luck with the project. That Bachmann 2-8-0 is a useful and attractive engine.

Much Appreciated

Of all of the Bachmann engines that I have owned over the years (most of which I have sold off), this one runs the best. Their quality in N-scale seems to have gotten a lot better.  Hope you have a Happy 4th of July...John

John, I agree these

John, I agree these locomotives are very good engines.

I believe that the "hum" you referred to is the sound of the turbo generator of the engine since mine have the same sound in both N and HO. Perfectly, normal and if you turn out the headlight I would bet the humming would go away? The turbo is used to provide electrical power for the prototype's lighting functions but only the head light on this model.

Thanks, for sharing the video.

Thanks for the Info

Hi Barry,

Thanks a lot for the information. I did notice that the hum does go away when the headlight is off.
