I just saw that Champ Decals, after winding down for several years, is ceasing to take orders on Sept. 30. I will miss them - they had the best choice of "classic era" decals, data, extra parts, and especially their private names. So it goes...

I wonder who bought them out

I wonder who bought them out if anybody I have a large collection of their Decals That I have bought over the past 50 years so I may have a larger back stock than them after looking at the whats left lists.

Another Model acessories company gone and will be missed.

Just placed my order!

I just placed a large order with Champ knowing that maybe we might never be able to get these decals again!   I hope someone takes them over and continues on!  Its hard finding Steam Era decal sets!

This was posted a while back and I also purchased a bunch before it drops out of site and mind.  They were quick to respond and fast to ship.

I do hope someone picks up the torch. would be to bad to lose this.  Little to far to cart all the items;  printers and boxes and boxes and boxes of info, data, decals and what not  to here in Montreal.  Guess it is a matter of money to keep this rolling.  It would be a shame to lose this to age and lack of interest.

I think I read somewhere that they have been trying to sell

for quite a few years.  They got no takers to buy the company so they have been selling down the existing inventory.  I think the owners have finally decided to sell whatever they can by September 30 and then just close the doors and retire.

Some One May Yet Buy Champ

As late as last year there was a group here in Alberta considering buying Champ; Minot ND is not that far away. The problem of course was the asking price. The sellers were asking a premium for the stock and printing operation were as the buyers only really saw value in the brand name and artwork. Hopefully the "intellectual" assets of Champ can at least be saved.

Its official Champ Has Closed!

Here is what you get on the website for champ!

Champion Decal Company has gone out of business.

We thank our customers from the 1940's through 2010 for their support and business. What a wonderful and long journey you have made with Champ. We are proud to be permanently stuck to the thousands upon thousands of model railroad cars and locomotives you have labored over. This hobby is truly a labor of love.

From the late Max Gray, the late Rich Meyer and current owner Connie Allard, we wish you all the very best.

September 30, 2010 was the last day any orders were accepted, be it by mail, fax, web or any other means. Orders received here after September 30, 2010 will not be filled (mail orders must be postmarked prior to September 30, 2010)

If your order was placed before September 30, 2010 please note that we are weeks behind in filling our orders. Consequently, some sets may sell out before your particular order is filled due to the many orders ahead of yours. Therefore, the web may have shown that certain sets were available when you placed your order, but may have sold out before we actually got to your order. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Only correspondence inquiring about orders placed before Sept. 30, 2010 will be answered. Our email is champ@minot.com.

I sit back and await my order

I sit back and await my order placed weeks ago. Too bad no one stepped in.  I've still got stock also, some back to the 70/ 80's still in perfect shape.
