This shows the completed base structure and roof sections of the cover for the passenger platforms being test fit at Union Station.  The structure has been prime painted only at this time. The structure consists of three (3) sections, namely, the east section that is split into two parts by the Main Street Bridge and the west section that sits in front of the REA Express Building complex.

Every part of the structure was designed and 3-D printed at home.  It has been modified to be slightly taller than the prototype so that the Cube+ camera (mounted on its flat car) would fit under the structure.

The next phase will include final painting with a steel color paint, gluing down the roof sections, gluing the front fascia onto both the east and west ends of the structure, and attaching track number signs as shown in the picture below.

You will also see some scenery items (retaining walls) have been added around the front of the Union Station Engine Facility along the East Helix as shown in the picture below. The sections of retaining wall are the same as what is along the back wall behind Union Station.

Part 3 of the Project

Hello again Filip!  Thank you for watching & your comments. It takes me a while to do projects as it is one of the most enjoyable parts of this hobby.  This one was particularly challenging and still has a way to go.  I plan on finishing this project within a couple more weeks (mid-May).......John
