I am considering on purchasing a static grass applicator. I have found that the two major brands on the market are the Noch Grassmaster 2 and one manufactured by WWS. I would appreciate any recommendations, pro or con on either of these two or if there is even a better one. I have built my own fly swatter applicator. It’s ok for a small area or for short lengths of grass, but I would like one which has more capability without spending unnecessary money.

Wish app

Check out the Wish.com market place app or website. Most of the model railroad stuff on there like train sets and locomotives, and brand name structures are at expensive retail prices, however, there is a static grass applicator listed for $47.00. The brand name is not listed, but it looks very similar to the Noch, Peco, or Woodland Scenics brand of applicator, with AC adapter, three different sizes of sieve end caps, and so on. There are also great deals on ready made trees and other scenery materials, but those are the only reasonable model railroad prices on the site.

If you have made a fly

If you have made a fly swatter version then I think you can build you own for a handful of dollars. You can order a negative ion generator online, mine was about 10 bucks a few years ago. The rest of the parts you probably have laying around the house, so that part could be free. There are you tube videos and articles on how to build one. The home built one is plenty strong, I have dropped it numerous times, (once thrown across the room from flocking the layout with track power on, (DON'T DO THAT, IT HURTS FOR A LITTLE WHILE, sheesh).  Good luck!
