It's very warm here in Canterbury, NB today. Reached a high of 15 celcius (about 60 F) and the snow is melting. This causes the driveway to be a sheet of ice. The snow is rolling off the roof. I went over to the church (where my layout will be built) and it's flooding due to some drainage issues that were not looked after last year. The water is lapping at the bottom of the basement door. My layout roon has about a 1/2 inch of water. All that matters is up off the floor but this will delay layout building further until it dries out. I've talked to the folks that look after such matters and have been told this spring it will be fixed.

I suppose I shouldn't complain as many others in Ontario are getting "REAL" flooding, not just water seapage. But it still is disappointing.

I've been spending a few hours a week over there getting the room prepped.

Take what we get

Seems to be a common theme. I have been furtonate enough to not have any flooding, but the amazing warm snap has too taken me away from the layout.

But I always say you dont get without a give...... 79 here yesterday, more flooding to come!

Here is to a dry basement!

Think before you post, try to be positive, and you do not always have to give your  opinion……

Steel Mill Modelers SIG, it’s a blast(furnace)!

Just be thankful

Hi Greg,

Just be thankful that this isn't your layout building room

It is mine, but the weather is a whole lot better in this part of Oz,

Reached a high of 15 celcius (about 60 F) ...

Almost hit 80 F (~27 C) on Sunday. Glorus weather for running trains in East Tennessee, but it did take us about an hour to clean the acorns out of the ties before we could get all of the loops running. To bad Winter is scheduuled to return later this week, and I will have to downgrade to running LITTLE trains inside.

It's not balmy here today,

It's not balmy here today, but at least the snow is gone except for where the plows piled it up. We has some snow piles that were 10 to 15 feet high.

If it wasn't for needing to be near our kids here I'd be out of this %< ~]\< !! state so fast it would make your head spin!  My power bill is sky big due to running the AIR CONDITIONER!   AHHHHHH!!

It may rain a bit today....

Which is sorely needed, as it looks like we are back on the drought side after only one wet year. Low 40° high 60° like most winter days. (In summer add 10 degrees.)

The Monterey bay is the most expensive air conditioner in the country.

I feel for you I'm 1000ft

I feel for you I'm 1000ft from the ocean here in Portland Maine and bottom of a hill. The entire neighborhood is built on fill so my 1923 house was the ocean in the 1800s... I get 1/2 inch of water whenever it rains for 3+ days or snow melts in April thankfully it's a few times a year only. This is why my bench work has pressure treated legs and is on casters to move in an emergency.

Everything froze last night.

Everything froze last night. Water is dissapaiting in the train room. High of 28 today. Tonight it is supposed to go down to -17 celcius, or about 1.4 F. Snow tomorrow night into Saturday. One thing about New Brunswick, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute and it will change.

Wow, everyone is all over the map - literally!

Hi all,

LOL!

Everyone is all over the map literally and figuratively weather-wise.

A week ago we got 12"/31cm of snow in a few hours.  Today it's all gone but just cold.

One of you said it was too hot one said too wet.  It's hard to get that "perfect" weather sometime, but I'm ready for the good weather to ruin my "indoor plans"...

Winters can be long in Michigan (USA), so we're usually ready for anything that even "looks" warm!
