We have decided to sell the TrainMasters TV TOMA layout. More details coming soon, but I wanted to get this out there in case any of you might be interested ... the layout will be on display at the Amherst Show in Springfield, MA. That would be quite a catch to take this layout home from the show!

Joe,

I thought you were going to use it as part of your home layout?    John

Nope

Not even hardly. I'm modeling the Southern Oregon SP in the 1980s, not the Vermont Railway in 2017, which is what the TMTV project layout is using as a prototype.

Siskiyou Line 2 is my own layout project and has nothing to do with the TMTV TOMA layout -- other than they're both TOMA layout projects.

I'm using very different construction methods for my home layout -- TOMA is an overall philosophy and it does not dictate construction methods, per se.

Can it be shipped?

Layout is stored in Buffalo, NY and we will deliver to within a days drive no charge. Or you can come pick it up in Buffalo.

Beyond that you pay for shipping and we will crate it up and load on truck in Buffalo for no charge. But everything here is negotiable, just ask if you’re seriously interested and we’ll work to accommodate you any way we can.

Asking price?

This is three fully scenicked modules + staging, DCC system + throttles, rolling stock plus four locos (two with sound and two dummies), operating turntable and all turnouts powered and DCC throwable as well as fascia throwable. Professionally built by Miles Hale and friends. What’s that worth to you? Email joef@mrhmag.com if interested.

Photos ...

Here are a few quick closeup photos taken with my iPad of the layout just now. It’s being set up at the Amherst Show and there’s no rolling stock on it yet ... it depicts the Vermont Rwy in 2017

Curious - still for sale

Just curious if this is still for sale?

Or to whom ever purchased it, would be neat to see its new home and some update photos..

Think before you post, try to be positive, and you do not always have to give your  opinion……

Yes, still for sale

Yes, it's still for sale. Care to make an offer? Keep in mind this is a completely finished layout with locos, rolling stock, structures, and a DCC system included.

TOMA layout loaned to ESU

The TOMA layout is currently on loan to ESU for use at their US offices as a place to run trains when they're making their how-to videos.

We won't mention that the layout was built with NCE DCC ... . I think they're going to replace that with the new ESU DCC WiFi system while they're using the layout for videos. Can't imagine why ... (wink)

You've run ESU before, trainmaster?

What makes NCE better?  I think there are really good points for both systems and it depends on the needs of the modeler which is "better."

I was more sorta making a joke ESU is actually one I haven't tried. My least favorite is digitrax, I have always had issues whenever I was at someones home running digitrax with connection or other issues. I don't have an issue with either of their decoders though.
