So i felt like sharing some of my modeling techniques. This is a prototype of the Deadwood Theater in Deadwood Gold camp, Dakota Territory June 15th 1876. At this time this building was under construction as you can see, the facade is not complete, when this is mounted on the diorama it will have a scaffolding in front with guys putting up the siding. This is HO scale, the dowels are 3/16 from wallmart and are all tapered to be roughly 16 inches at the butt end and a round 10 inches at the top, the router bit is a 1/16 for starter cut than i use a exato blad to cut in and than a 3/32 file to finish it off, i use super glue gel for adhesive. i have a video on how i taper the logs, I will post it if anyone would like to see. Neat log structure effect

Jack,

I'd be interested in how you taper your logs - it might be of use to those of us making trees as well.

Is that a table router you are using to put the notches in the logs?
