Hi! 

I made a landing as a first attempt to get started with wooden scratch building. Not much to post maybe, but I was kind of happy with the result, so here goes anyway!

I made a video tutorial showing the construction of the landing:

... and here is how the water surface was made using toilet paper and glue:

I watched these videos last week.  I must say I will be trying your water techniques as it looks new and rather easy, but all good modellers make it look easy.

Landing

For the safety of your little people you might want to add a couple of steps from the bank onto the landing itself. Otherwise it looks great for a 1st shot at scratch building.

I will try and watch the videos tomorrow.

Nice first try...

...but I agree on the steps up to the grass and I would add a worn path in the grass where people come to the landing. It also seems to me that the land end of the deck should have something to tie it into the ground.
