MY LATEST BUILD -

Since my wife is a retired educator, she wanted a school house on the layout. It will be added to the newest town of Watersmeet, MI to be built on my HO scale CNW Peninsula Div. railroad. The building is a kit bash using two DPM kits. The base kit is #106 Laube's Linen Mill. I will admit that it was not my original idea. I found the design article in the Model Railroad special publication "Modeling Railroads of the 1950's". The original building was to be a YMCA residence, but it looked like a good design for a 1950 schoolhouse.

Very nice!

I think I went to school there, haha.  It does somewhat resemble a school in my hometown (the school has since been torn down) that I went to in the late 50's.  This building will make a fine school...good job.

Nice!

Great job!

May want to consider a little weathering and enhancing the mortar.   But  "as is" it would still look good on a layout.

We never had air conditioning. Nice work. I like your front door.

Looks good

With some mods it could be my High School in the early 60's. It would have to lose the A/C though. The only "air handling" was to open windows.

I remember going to a school like that also.

No AC, early 60's. Teachers would open the windows when it got toasty outside. That of course led to a bit of a fly invasion and students wandering around outside at least in their imagination.

My school had two types of A/C...

The classrooms had open window type A/C, but the office area had good ol' A/C.  It is still hot down here in September and getting sent to the office to cool off sometimes was a good thing.

Good looking bash!

I really like your model ... the front entry is particularly handsome ... and different from so many kits out there.
