Part 2: I’ve been able to work a few hours a day on the track installation in the passenger track section of the Union Station Yard.  All of the track for the passenger side of the yard has been installed, track feeder locations have been annotated plus all track joints have been soldered.  Holes have been drilled for power cut-off switches along the front of the yard support (similar to those that were done both for the staging yards and the visible staging yard at the top of the center peninsula.  The track is now joined to the east helix but is not yet powered as shown in the video below.

Part 3: This section (see video below) is about the process that I used in preparation for the DCC wiring to be installed in the Union Station passenger yard. There are a lot of ways to do this but is the method that I have used throughout the construction of this layout.  The first step was done in the previous video, that is, to annotate the code for the feeder on the layout where I want the feed to be located.  The next step is to determine how to group feeders for power distribution using terminal strips. The next steps include soldering the feeders, installing the terminal strips, connecting the terminal strips to the main bus wire using 3M Scotchlok Electrical IDC 567, and finally connect the feeders to the terminal strips while checking electrical continuity at every step.  As of 24 Dec 2015, all of the terminal strips have been installed, all of the feeders soldered to the tracks (with the kind help of my wife), and about 10% of the feeders connected and ready for DCC testing. The plan is to be able to run a train from the completed Paradigm section (shown in the 3 Nov 2015 Layout Update) through Union Station (passenger station yard) to the east helix and down to staging by the end of the year.  It will take another month to complete the freight yard plus fixing any items that need adjustment, etc.  More to come in 2016.
