One of the scenes planned on my "1980s era" HO scale layout is a  building fire scene to include fire engines of that era. (60s, 70s, era trucks would also be prototypical of my era)

Busch and Athearn make a few of that era but the "pickings" seem to be slim in HO scale.  Fireman figures I can find are either 1950s era or modern European.

So, I am down to scratch building fire trucks of that era.  Can anyone recommend companies that make truck bodies, cabs, detail parts, etc... ?   (Looks like Ratcliffe is out of business now)

Best bet

Buffalo Road has a large selection, from horse drawn to present day. Go to fire trucks and scale 87. I'm sure you'll find something. Watch for some pretty pricey ones unless you have a good CFO.

I'm going to have to order from them myself. 50's stuff.
