For Christmas?   I don't have my train stuff yet and I already knew what I was getting but here's the list....

Carolina Craftsman Rastetter Mill Kit

Walthers McGraw Oil Kit

Life Like Stock pen

The Life Like Kit is an experiment. It looks decidedly toy like in the web pics but for 10 bucks I gambled that I can work some paint magic on the plastic and make it presentable. If not it becomes like a 3D planning model to duplicate in wood. Never tried the Carolina Craftsman kits before so it will be interesting to see what those are about.

I also got a new RC Helicopter kit  with my Christmas money. That's actually here but I haven't started it yet.  Can't spend all my money on trains!

Bought myself this

It's not technically a Christmas gift, but it's probably the closest I'm going to get, unless my wife found me some RR books of some sort.  I won't know that until this afternoon.  But for now, I know I'm getting this:

And this, to go with it:

Merry Christmas to me!

Santa got me a few things...

Three awesome books. Two by my mentor the other by fellow MRH Forum participant Bernie K. with his book on "Railroads Go To War!".  They should be good reads!

Also a Tichy Coal Tower, a set of On30 EBT Hoppers, and four F&C Resin Car kits.  Should keep me busy!

Nothing

I have cabinets full of kits, a shelf of paint and glue, and a box of tools. I have everything a modeler could want, right here. Except maybe a couple weeks off. That would be nice.

Bridges

Among (too) many other things, my wife gave me the last 7 Rix road bridge kits necessary to build the I-80 overpasses at the east end of Bluffs yard, seen below:

They'll eventually help to complete this scene:

08-30_05.JPG Our daughter, son-in-law, and son gave me money/gift certificates to use toward a road bike I'm planning to buy this spring.

Thanks, honey............

...................having a Fiance` who is a graphic artist can come in handy.  She's designed and fit this for my NG locomotives of the Adirondack Southern.  Once I get the different sizes down I will send them out to be made, probably as dry transfer.

The logo will probably be colored and printed on white decal paper and will be done on our printer for the Abanakee Lumber Co..

What a great Christmas present!!  Thanks Honey...........

I did quite well

Santa got me an air brush kit, my wife got me 30' of cork roadbed and 30' of flex track, the grand kids got me a total of $90 in gift certificates at the hobby shop plus some other small RR things. I am thinking I will be busy for awhile.

OK, I was good for the past week or so...

And fortunately Santa just focused on that, and gave me an Atlas CP painted C-424 DCC-equipped with sound. Hoping the big red guy was as generous with everyone this year.

I was really good!

I got a new Blackstone C-19 Undecorated with the Russian Iron boiler and diamond stack. My father-in-law and I had it out on the kitchen table with a length of track.  It was fun making all that noise!

I have another C-19 Undecorated with the green boiler and straight stack coming soon.

No trains but...

Some stuff I really love, including the Quasar lighting system for my Optivisor. If you've been thinking of getting one, I highly recommend it. It is like night and day with it on.

Only Indirect Train Stuff this Year

This year I got stuff that is indirectly related to  the hobby... I got a pair of plastic extruders to build my 3D printer, and a pair of Geckodrive stepper drivers to retrofit my CNC router.

Merry Christmas everybody!

New Loco

I've been married for 42 years and a model railroader for over 30 years and have never received any model rr gifts. So this year I treated myself to a Proto 2000 SD9 with Tsunami sound by Soundtraxx.

After visiting with our son and his family plus Facetime with our daughter and her family on the west coast, I wired the last of 10 Tortoise switch machines.  I have a very understanding wife to let me work on the railroad on Christmas.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and Happy New Year!

The biggest kit I've ever seen.

I got myself the Rose Walsh Smelter at the Narrow Gauge Convention and promised my wife it was my Xmas present so I wrapped it up and put it under the tree.

I rarely get Christmas gifts....

...as my wife and I agreed long ago to quit buying each other gifts and to focus on our kids instead. My mother in law always sends money for the kids and for us too but we usually take our portion and spend it on the kids.  This year though we had some extra cash and my wife really wanted this back massager contraption so she let me spend an equal amount of money on stuff I wanted.  That's how I ended up with the helicopter  and the train structure kits
