I am modeling my hometown train yard wish is in Puerto Peñasco Sonora , MX. and the buildings that i need for the yard i am not going to find them any where, so i have to build them, since i have experience with my previous layout building structures out of cardboard i wanted to give it a try by starting with the train station wish is  I think was the harder structure to complete, here in Mexico there are no train stores and is very difficult to find styrene for kitbashing , so i bought this sheets of cardboard for 5 pesos each and started.._0092(2).JPG d for 5 pesos each and started it:

Obviously is not finished

Obviously is not finished completely yet, i build it in about 10 hours using cardboard, glue, sharp knife, and water colors, i am not weathering it till  i am done but for weathering i use real dust powder and water colors. i hpe you like it.

My name is Kenneth Uriarte,  28 years old, 18 years in modeling trains, and 7 years working in the railroad as train inspector for Ferromex / Ferrosur at Hibueras Veracruz MX.

Nice looking station

Ken.  I would never know it was cardboard looking at the pictures.  You do good work.

wow

Great work. I am curious what type of cardboard this is, as it looks very stiff compared to most card stock I have seen. It is obviously not corrugated. Another question is what type of glue are you using?

Cardstock

Cardstock is great for modeling and easy to work with pretty basic tools and adhesives.

Have you considered asking at local sign-making shops? They often have a scrap bin full of various kinds of materials.
