This is the blog of the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway.  Not the real one from the 1890's in British Columbia's southern interior, but the HO scale one in my basement.  The layout is set in two periods 1985-2001 so I can run some Burlington Northern equipment that I grew up around, and the present day so I can model the CP equipment I see today.

I chose the philosophy "less is more" so there is not a lot of operation in my layout.  I even deleted a town that was on the opposite side of the Upper Yard in favour of a long sweeping curve.  I enjoy the process of building it and photographing it.  The layout is controlled using a Digitrax DCC system and JMRI.

The Track Plan:

This is the current version: Version 2, Iteration H, Option 4, Revision 1.0.  I've changed my mind a few times.

I like your....

...comment, "less is more." I agree. I also like scenery work so lots of track is not so important to me either.

Also how you got to your current plan is great! I like it.

Enjoy your build,

Jim

This isn't a biased

This isn't a biased opinion... Southern B.C. is the BEST place to model!

I can't wait to see your progress! It looks great!

Trackplan

I forgot to ask, but if you haven't already, would you consider adding your trackplan to the trackplan database thread?

Hi, I love the idea of trains

Hi, I love the idea of trains running through scenery on plain track. I can only dreaam of the space to appriecate trains running on a natural mainline. Looking forward to more. Oly

Any chance of seeing a current photo of your layout space? Even if just a little has changed it is always interesting to see a layout in progress.
