Two new buildings in progress for the Ashland Industrial Area on my HO CNW Peninsula Div. RR

This is H.J. Fromholz & Son. It is a business that was actually in Ashland WI and was serviced by the CNW RR during the era I model. It was built from a Walthers kit (Reliable Warehouse & Storage #933-3014). I did not want to use the wood dock that was supplied with the kit so I made a new concrete one.[attach:fileid=/sites/model-railroad-hobbyist.com/files/users/richhard01/Flannelly%20Co_%20%26%20H_J_%20Fromholz%20%26%20Son%20001.jpg]

This is the Flannelly Co. that also was in Ashland during my era. It was built from a Walthers kit (Water Street Freight Terminal). I painted the building after it was assembled. This kit is the perfect example for doing the assembly first and then painting it. This kit requires that you assemble the main building pieces and then add the foundation pieces. But as with most of the Walthers kits I have built that are like this the pieces do not match up and there a gaps at the corners that require filling. So by painting after assembly these miss matches don't show.[attach:fileid=/sites/model-railroad-hobbyist.com/files/users/richhard01/Flannelly%20Co_%20%26%20H_J_%20Fromholz%20%26%20Son%20002.jpg]

Ashland Div.

I grew up in Ashland Wi. and spent a lot of time around the railroad scene.  My uncle worked for the CNW so as a kid I got to ride with the switch crew when they went down to switch the paper mill and do some yard work.  The downtown yard seemed to always have something going on.  Ashland was quite the railroad town for many many years.  My wifes great grandpa was an engineer on the CNW and her grandpa was a switchman and her great uncle was a weighmaster for the ore trains.  I have some maps and pics from the Ashland area if you are interested.  Take care.

Maps & Pics of Ashland

Yes I would be interested in seeing what you have and would you get them to me? Would there be any cost?
