The second part of this project was an Atlas AEM-7 factory painted for Septa that needed to have details added/corrected.  I was also simultaneously working on my own NJ Transit ALP44 correcting some of the detail discrepancies.

Here you can see where I removed the Amtrak style marker light from between the number boards.  Also the horn has been relocated to the fireman's side as per the prototype and replaced with a properly sized K5LA from Details West.

After touching up the missing paint and painting the grabs the proper color.  Just some simple mods that make a world of difference in the apperance of an otherwise great model.  Still to be added are the unique grabs on the ends and ditch lights.

Something that was done to both models was to paint the disc brake rotors silver as they appear in real life.  Though its a subtle detail its something that is often overlooked by modelers and does make a difference on the finished product.

Here is the in progress Septa loco next to the good enough for now NJT unit.  So far the horn has been replaced and detail associates ditch light housings have been added.  In addition I removed and blanked out the strobe lights as Septa did when they added ditch lights.

This is the completed for now model with the ditch lights, grabs and horns painted their proper colors.  The weathering is all powders and this is pre clear coat so the finished look was cleaner.
