there's a couple in Buffalo

or more properly Cheektowaga.  Niagara Hobbies is a full line hobby store.  Their selection of HO is probably the biggest part of the model train line.  Some decent N, a good but not huge book section.  And its right next to the four track lead for the CSX yard.

My other recommendation is LBC trains in Williamsville (near the Buffalo airport).  They are in a hole in the wall store in a brick industrial building - so you'll probably drive past it once or twice.  Great N scale selection, including detail parts that are hard to find at retail anymore.  They have an equally large HO side, but I don't generally shop there.

If you are into Lionel, there's an interesting Lionel shop in Hamburg in an old train station.  I can't recall the name at the moment.

There are others in Buffalo proper, but I've never actually visited any of them.

Niagara Hobbies

I was there last year. They do sell railroad related material but it doesn't seem to be the store I used to visit many years ago. It is worth a visit though.

Another store in the general area is Kval Hobbies 277 Hinman Avenue Buffalo, NY 14216. I'm not sure if they are still open. Haven't been there in ages.

LBC...

And if you stop by, you will be greeted to an empty store and a locked door. He hasn't updated his ebay site.

I spoke with the owner, he has closed his retail store and is selling online now.

I can say this because I was there. I have no reason to lie.....
