To All: Today's installment of Early Rail Equipment are--Photo #1-Savanannah, Americus & Montgomery became part of the Seaboard Air Line. Ventilated boxcars were popular with southern railroads as they served the dual purpose of allowing ventilation of fruit or vegetables or with the solid door in place the car could carry other merchandise. This is a scratchbuilt car. Photo #2-The Canada Southern was the corporate entity of the Michigan Central in Canada (and later the NYC, PC and Conrail). Photo #3-Pennsyslvania Lines/Union Line is a kit car by Westerfield. Union Line was the fast freight entity established and used by the PRR RR. I decaled the car. Photo #4-Alabamba Great Southern was part of the Queen & Crescent Route. AGS became part of the Southern RR. This car is by Roundhouse, decaled by yours truly. Yours, Elvin Howland/E.
