I recently dragged out the ol' camera to take some photos of the layout for the upcoming layout tour and open house this August to coincide with the narrow gauge convention in Pasadena, CA.  Taking these helped me notice what needs work, (which is just about everything) and focus in on what can realistically be improved before August.

The "Fly" train crosses the Feather River on the "high-line" while an eastbound manifest heads towards Portola.

Layout Tour

You have a Great looking layout Rob, Your visitors during the tour won't be disappointed. We have a great annual layout tour here in New Hampshire and Massachusetts right after thanksgiving day called the "Tour de Chooch" usually over 20 layouts including club layouts and individual home layouts. I try to attend every year but sometimes due to the Holiday I can't always do it. When I do the tour I photograph and or video it.

Here's a link to the 2010 tour

I have many more You can see on my You Tube channel just click the link below.

by the way is Your tour free ? the "tour de chooch" is. My brother in Michigan attended a home layout tour and they charged an admission fee. Just curious

Thanks guys.

Appreciate the kind words.  Still lots to do.

Ronald, that New England Rails Club layout is amazing!  Can't imagine how they access the back of that thing.  So much detail.

I am pretty sure all the Model RR's of Southern California tours are free.  I don't think it would be right to charge.  I think they have about 75 layouts  on the tour this year because of the Narrow Gauge convention.  If anyone is in the LA area, I am always looking for more operators.  I operate my LAUPT depot as well, but that's a story for another blog post!
