Great idea!  Harbor freight tool is currently $40 while Micromark's is on sale at $50. They sure look alike; maybe its the same tool marketed under different brands?

You are correct. It is the same tool with a guard added. I just adapted Micro-Marks version of the saw The changes are minimal, just a little wider in a couple of spots. Look for the update.
