MRH Q-A-T: modeling water, styrene as wood ...

Great articles!   While I probably knew the bulk of these articles already, to have all that information laid out of in front of me in one place is extremely valuable!   Well done!

What's an acid brush?

The portion on water modeling suggested using an "acid brush". What is that?  I've never heard that term before.

Thanks

This is an Acid Brush

Pictured below is a typical "acid brush".

They're an inexpensive brush made from metal and horse hair, and are typically used for painting on solder flux, adhesive, etc.  They have found all sorts of uses beyond their original purpose.  You can find them at most any hardware store or big-box home center, as well as online.

Weathering Tip - Fantastic use of a different product.

Bravo! What a great find on the Home Depot concrete tint powder as a weathering tool! Certainly, the model-specific sets have a multitude of color variations available in kits, but you have provided a solution for some of us to begin this facet of the hobby in a more affordable fashion.  Also, it would be enough to share with a bunch of other people, perhaps offsetting the costs even more. Well done!
