Setup Begins Tomorrow

Many people from the group have had to withdraw but we are still looking at a large oval with a 40 or so feet of branchline. We will begin setting up mid afternoon on Friday. Hope to have the first trains running before dinner. Come see us in the North Hall on Saturday or Sunday!

I went to the Timonium show

I went to the Timonium show yesterday and it was fairly lightly attended but I enjoyed myself and found some good deals including a fairly recent run Athearn SD40R NIB for $65 and a Tangent box car for $12 and a 2-pack of Athearn Fruehauf RI trailers for $17.  As always I enjoy the layouts and watching trains run as well.

Great show!

Timonium show

I was amazed at the large number of older Atlas, Stewart and LL proto 2000- loco's for sale at $40-50. A number of tables had them stacked like cordwood. Even some of the old Atlas RSD-12's which do not normally show up. The show is slowly changing back to what it was years ago that is people selling off their old trains . --  Ken

Sometimes it's like that.  It

Sometimes it's like that.  It just depends.  The Timonium show is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.  Often there are estates or collections being sold off.  Nothing has really changed.  I've been going there since I moved to the DMV area in 2009 and it's always been like that.  Sometimes there are estates or collections being sold, sometimes large, sometimes small.  I picked up a fairly recent Athearn RTR SD40R $65 NIB

I was there as well

I was there helping run trains with the club I am with.  I was very appreciative for all of the complements I received for my weathering job of a Rivarrossi Allegheny I have.  Also my son made out like a bandit.  His birthday is in 2 weeks, so I allowed him to pick out a few things.  He scored two P2K FA2 (one was 20 bucks they other 25), two very nice P2K SD7s ($35 dollars a piece), and a bunch of freight cars.  I am in the process now of cleaning out all his P2K locomotives and installing DCC so he can use them at the next club open house.  My only purchase for my self was a Fox Valley B&O express box car for $20 and a old P2K locomotive that I will get around to fixing up later on.
