Arrrrggggggg!

"Ads Not by this site"?!

Anyone else seeing this message in small grey print on the forum? (I haven't looked at the online magazine.) I'm using Windows 8 (ugh), Chrome Ad Block Plus and / or Ad Block Pro.

There are also artifacts of ads it is trying to display.

I'm having a heck of a time posting this message!

Why does my login take me to my account page?

Just wondering why, when I login to the MRH site, it takes me to my account page.?

i rarely open that page, and I'm not sure other users want to go there first. Personally, I think the login should just keep us on the Recent Posts page. Or, at the very least, it should go the Home page.

Is this another Drupal thing?

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks,

Al

Still another forum suggestion - personal reminders

Since I frequently log on and check to see what has been posted in the forum, but I only have a few minutes to read, I find that I sometimes miss some nice things.  Sometimes I'll see that there's a long and involved post which I'd like to devote more time to, other times there's something which I really want to respond to when I have the time.

What's the difference between...

...this forum (Website general discussion) and the Modeling general discussion forum?

What I really want to know is where to put comment/suggestions about the website itself.

Thanks,

Al

Table of Contents

Gentlemen,

First let me say that M.R.H. is brilliant, and I tell people about it at every train show I attend.

Do you think that one of your computer guru"s could come up with a table of contents that shows that page from each issue and is updated with each issue?

I realize that there is an index which is great for looking up specific information. Sometimes it is nice to browse past issues and reread articles or just search for a new project.

Thank You

Larry

iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD

It finally came to a point with the Kindle Fire HD that I could only use it for reading posts on the forum. There must have been a change in the Kindle browser as it finally would jump to the latest posts rather than loading at the top of the most recent page. However, I couldn't create a response to a post. Everything I typed disappear from the text area as soon as I was typing it. The predictive text was functioning, but it was no use. Also, many of the videos posted in the forums appeared on the Kindle as a gray square with a symbol of a puzzle piece in the middle.

How do I post an image that clicks through to a larger image?

I know this surfaced not too long ago, but I couldn't find it in Search for what I thought would be relevant key words, and it isn't in the How To Post Images thread.

I see quite a few photos done this way, including the latest Weekend Photo Fun crane pix.

My apologies for having to ask for something I should be able to find on my own.

Realistic Street construction ideas

Realistic Street construction ideas

Just a quick post requesting ideas from my fellow modelers on how to construct realistic looking roads and streets.  I have a need for a series of streets for my town area and I am not satisfied with any of my attempts so far, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

Backdrop Blog - Marked as Spam?

I created an extensive backdrop blog last night, May 11 and now it's gone.  Can someone confirm if it's truly unavailable or was just marked as spam?  It took quite some time to build an I don't want to re-create if I don't have to.
